History
Origins
Newbridge Musical Theatre was founded in 1981 (under the name Newbridge Musical Society) as a result of a number of meetings organised by the Community Council of Newbridge. The aim of the society was to provide an outlet to local theatre enthusiasts who wanted to stage musical productions for the entertainment of the residents of Newbridge and the greater Kildare area. Newbridge has always boasted a wealth of musical talent and the new society was to provide a fitting opportunity to give expression to this.
